Qigong Healing Daoist tradition is a system of self-cultivation that unifies you with the Dao and the cycles of nature through the movements of Kung fu and Tai Chi and meditation.
The Moon represents Yin and the Sun represents Yang. When the Daoists train outside in nature they absorb Yin and Yang directly from nature.
The Daoist philosophy also focuses on developing the virtues of Compassion and Kindness. In the Daoist text Dao de Jing (Tao Te Ching) ‘Dao’ means the way of nature. ‘De’ means virtue. It speaks about the Daoist’s behavior and social relationships and the ability to express and receive love and compassion. In Daoism, this social behavior is considered more important than the mystical philosophy.
The Mystical philosophy is the practice of being one with nature and includes health, wellness and focuses on the breath through the practice of Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Qigong. Connecting to the healing forces in nature (the sun, moon and stars) we receive the life force from nature. As such through your Tai Chi practice it is possible to heal yourself.
The Virtue aspect of Daoism is about cultivating compassion. The Moon represents compassion, kindness and love that envelopes the earth as a blessing. As we change the way we relate to others, as we change our behavior we are considered living closer to the Dao and the way of nature.
In the Dao De Jing Chapter 6 Lao Tze says: I have 3 treasures, guard them well:
1. Compassion
2. Frugality
3. Not daring to be first (humility)
Only the compassionate can be brave
Only the frugal can be expansive (generous)
Only the humble can be a leader
When you heal others, you heal your own heart. When you are of service to others you are also of service to yourself.
